Tada. There's a picture. It took me a long time to fiddle with it, but I have no scanner and no graphics programs. Then discovery! Me with gold record, taken by someone else's digital camera. Jackpot.

Then I had to finagle it down to the proper size (converted to BMP, cropped in Windows Paint) and then back to a LJ-usable format (clipped piece to JPG in Visio, of all things). Didn't turn out perfect, but for a cramped likeness where the process unleveled my eyes and you can't tell my arm from my shirt ... it'll do. *smirk*

I'm not sure I'm thrilled with the results, but I'll find some way to get something better up here eventually. This may even bring 'round the LJ-er who knows me in RL. She'll kill me for being here this long without telling her.

In the meantime, tada. Pixelated Pookah slumming with shades, flannel, and record.

Nope, no AIM here. Only Yahoo Messenger seems to work through the firewall. This pic'll do for the time being. I've looked worse. Maybe one of those huge eyeball shots I took when messing around with the laptop camera for entertainment value.

Cute and affable? Wow. I'm pretty non-descript. It must be that I cut out the rest of the picture. *chuckle*

shareware paint shop pro is ok for graphics. and cheaper than photoshop. although photoshop is supreme ruler of the art editing programs.

i am curious...what is the gold record for?

PSP or Photoshop would do nicely. I'll look into it.

The gold record is borrowed. Awarded to the drummer of Toad the Wet Sprocket for their album Fear that had songs like "All I Want" and "Walk on the Ocean".

He loaned it to a fan (Steve) who traveled often for his job with the mission of taking it to as many fans as possible, kinda like the garden-gnome-travel thing. Luckily, Steve came through Baltimore once and let me know.

Not mine, though I wish it was. =)

that's very good illustration of connectedness...a musician friend of mine stayed in santa barbara at the yellow house (a kind of famous co op). when he was there, he played with members of dishwallah, but Ken said that toad was out of his league, a big hit locally by then and he never got to play with them.
