I've been a quiet pookah. I have at least been VERY busy. Busy to the point of almost missing things.

There is a fair amount of "almost" going on. My daughter is almost walking, taking a few steps before falling. She is still terribly cute and adorable. I'll be happy once this one work fire drill is resolved and I can go back to either an earlier/later schedule so I see more of her. I'm almost done with website side work for my job, before the next batch gets started. Another side project I'm loosely involved with is almost ready to take off. Hockey season and the Capitals are almost dropping the puck.

And James, a band I've enjoyed but who had more or less been defunct since 2001-2002 ... is back together, has a new album, and is playing a gig TOMORROW NIGHT in DC as one of about 15 US shows. Show's already sold out and ticket scalpers online want over $140 for seats. OUCH! shoggoth1 may have a lead for something reasonable, but still very doubtful. I like them, but $140 ain't happening.

It has been a while since I went to a rock concert. That's kind of unusual for a summer. But then again, I didn't have a little girl to go see at home, either.

In a surprise move, J took about 12 steps in a row today (coffee table to me standing 1/2 way into the foyer tile!) I guess she was really motivated! Your Mom was here when it happened, so she'll vouch! :-)
