In celebrating finishing a website today, finally, I let myself game a lot this evening. And started with The Orange Box, a birthday gift from friends of mine who did it from a combined urge-to-share-good-gaming and desire-for-a-new-Team-Fortress-2-target. =D

So, I figured it was about time to finally play through Portal. I'd played a few levels over at la casa de dasquish before, but missed the half of the plot that's in the last half of the game. It doesn't count as a spoiler to say I'll be shuddering at the phrase "Test 19" for a while now. And the phrase "the correct party escort submission position decision" will also be stuck in my head.

So I'm in the middle of:
Enchanted Arms - XBox 360 turn-based RPG, and those are perfect when Julia's awake, since I can drop the controller or look away from the screen with no bad consequences
Rock Band & Guitar Hero III - I dig the music. And bought some Microsoft points to buy some downloadable songs already. "Still Alive" from Portal is not yet available, but should be on the way if the very public rumors are right.
Half Life 2: Episode 1 - Just starting this. I've been wondering about it ever since finishing the original Half-Life 2.
Touch Detective 2 1/2 - Portable gaming with tongue firmly planted in cheek.
Bioshock - On loan, so I really should move it up the list. But ... but ... argh! That's not even a fraction of the list!

Whichever. Tonight is sleep after this, and hopefully I don't have too many website patches to do whenever testing is complete. Happy Easter, folks!

PS: I am SOOOOOOOO turning into Maes Hughes from Full Metal Alchemist in the "Hey, have I told you how cute my daughter is?" department. I need to find that fine line between informative and bragging.

PSS: And before I forget, Macbeth at the Folger Theater in DC is totally awesome. They didn't back down from really staging it as a bloody drama. Literally.

Not directly in faces yet, but even tonight I was quick on the draw to my wife's coworker we randomly ran into at Hikari Sushi. I had to share the pictures of her cuteness, including one of her holding cards when she grabbed sapphireblue's hand while playing Pitch Six over at wmtrainguy's house. That one was topical, since cardplaying came up in conversation.

Team Fortress 2??
We need to arrange some serious TF2 goodness. I would rather get everyone together at one place - it is much more enjoyable playing games like that if you can look over and chat with people. I know TF2 has a pretty good built in chat system, but I prefer to play video games in person. (Is it just me or does that seem odd somehow?). But lugging hardware around is easier said than done.

My lappy can support it, and my PC is fairly movable with the lcd monitor... we just need to pick a place and time.
