Rich man, poor man, beggar man, thief.

It's amazing what a little accomplishment and face-to-face time can do. Note to self: when attending contentious meetings in the future, make sure to walk in with as much information as possible and bring some news of progress. People seem to like that, even if it's not necessarily a complete answer to their problems. But I'm very relieved after the way yesterday went. I wasn't nearly as far behind as I feared, and someone else tackled one of the bigger "WHO SHOULD BE DOING THIS ANYWAY" items I was afraid was going to be stuck on my agenda.

But there are things to do before next Friday, and I have to remind myself not to let accomplishment lull me into a false sense of security, or I will end up like a kid on a raft at the beach who rode down a wave and zipped far enough in front of it to have a great ride before losing momentum as it roars up from behind. That does seem like a lot of words to describe what is (in my head) a picture of a slice of a moment in time, complete with impending action.

It is a definite paradox. I somehow aim to balance contentment with my achievements with a never-quite-satisfied thirst for more. Maybe it's too much listening to too much Beck that's getting me to stand outside my own head with only a minimal amount of observer's paradox, comparable to sticking one's head out the window while still driving the car.

It occoured to me, just now, that if you changed the head of this icon you are using right now, and colored the arms blue like the legs you'd pretty much have a penguin.

You have a penguin body.
