I survived going to the football game, but the sinus "crud" going around has laid me low all weekend. This morning was like my allergy season showers where I spent half the time just breathing in warm moist air. I've also ripped through a box of tissues.

That Ravens game wasn't exactly a health booster. I got smacked in the face after the game. Literally. There was this girl and guy outside the gates as I was walking to the buses. As I passed, the girl asked the guy where he'd seen someone else. He said "Back over there," and swung his arm to point. Since he was pointing, his knuckles caught me in the mouth like a punch. I checked to make sure there was no bleeding and no lost teeth before walking on and the guy did apologize, but it was still a punch in the face.

After more fun with Guitar Hero 2, I caved and got my own copy, the better to help encourage trying out the multiplayer mode. I've gotten pretty good at Easy & Medium difficulties. Even got 100% on a couple songs. But Hard difficulty doesn't even start out nice. They throw the fifth button in there AND all the worst of the fret tricks. Wow.

Backpack plans are moving along. I found something that will definitely help. They're called Soss (brand) Invisible Hinges. Both sides of the hinges get mounted into the doors, so you can barely see the pin when it's closed. It's one 32nd of an inch wide at that point, so it will look clean and practically flush. I lucked into it when researching other cabinet hinges. Note to self: add link later.

PS: Watched Inuyasha 124-126 & Naruto 69. Hooray plot points. =)

I think it is finally my turn to get the crud. Last night getting ready for bed, I was commenting to Ceri, "I don't know why I'm so tired. And achey. Wait a minute, how did the crud start? Crap." *reaches for drugs* I woke up this morning still tired and achey, only add to it the feeling that my sinuses were so full that my brain was congested. So hopefully I can drug the crud into submission.

Did you see the pdf of the backpack? I plan to add the hinges and cross to it today or tomorrow. Then all we need to figure out is the straps. I also did some basement cleaning last night, which has provided more scrap wood for our use.

I did see the PDF. That looks just like what we would want it to be. I'll start researching the straps. Basically I'm looking at some solid strap material since we'll have to attach them to the metal brackets at either end and stitch it closed after the strap loops around the bracket at one end to hold that one in place, and a sliding clip to hold the other one.

1) Appropriate length of strap fabric
2) 4 metal brackets to be mounted to backpack
3) 2 plastic clips for straps

Any suggestions for width? I was thinking 2-3 inches. I don't want it so narrow that it cuts into my shoulder. Again, I'll defer to the book if there's something specific shown, but reality > art in this case.
