Happy 2007 Everybody

And the new year is starting off with a bang.

  • My wife is pregnant. OMG! It's twins. OMG!OMG! Let's just consider this grounds for random giggling with mirth at any point this year. ANY time. Gushing will be a fact of life, as I was reminded yesterday. This won't turn into a baby journal, but in writing about important topics there's no way they will stay off the list.
  • The Ravens are in the playoffs, and as a Baltimore football fan, I've got this combination of enthusiasm and awe. Yeah, they've still got flaws, but they've already exceeded my expectations for the year in giving us a home playoff game. 2 wins = Super Bowl time, so the margin for error is pretty much gone from here on out.
  • Guitar Hero 2 had gotten good reviews and has a certain coolness factor to the concept. And they you watch it or play it, and WOW is it fun. Excellent party game for an excellent party, and we got at least 6 different people up to play it when evadd4w6 brought his copy to our place on Saturday. 4 hours later, it was left on loan until New Year's, when we watched anime and briefly reunited the newly formed "DQ BLIZZZARD" for another gig. dasquish and I have a bit of a knack for the game, and I managed a 4 out of 5 rating playing Freebird on Medium difficulty on the first go. That's right, Freebird. See, when you finish a set of songs on difficulty levels after easy, they throw a new song as an "encore" at you without much warning that is longer than the rest. The encore song at the last venue (STONEHENGE!) is Freebird. Yowza. That one, you do get some warning. As in, they ask you THREE TIMES if you're sure you want to do it. It certainly isn't like playing it on guitar, but still a challenge. I'll have to get my own copy of the game one of these days, because any game that is good to play and watch and take turns at is a really good one to have around.
  • I have been playing other games, like Final Fantasy XII (on loan from dasquish) and Warcraft and the new .Hack game.
  • New Year's Eve was a Naruto marathon on Cartoon Network and I watched a bunch of episodes. Definitely better wherever it is they're at now. It's a slow starter, like Scrapped Princess. On New Year's Day we got a gang together to watch the first 6 episodes. They like it. Especially once the action started rolling in. I'm thinking Ergo Proxy will be next for the gang. I still need to watch Beck (high school drama with RAWK) and Aria (cute fluff, but still makes me smile), but they won't suit the group tastes as well.
  • Even work requests over the vacation days were not terrible. I got one "before you leave" 5 minute thing on the day we were heading north before Christmas, but nothing over New Year's. That's different from my earlier vacations.

All in all, the holiday went even better than I could have hoped for. So let's see how it goes from here. I've got a present left to deliver, a card to turn in, a bill to pay, married friends to congratulate ... along with some creative ideas in my head that I should get on paper. Heck, I woke up one morning with what seemed like a start of a symphony in my head. Tonight needs to be planning for the weeks ahead. Tomorrow is first oil change for the car followed by the Notre Dame bowl game. So much to do before the 2nd annual 29th birthday party, but I've got time. =D

Yes Pookah. Do that so I might actually watch this show. I really want to, but like Bleach and FMA, I think they lose too much.

You know, it didn't even occur to me until now that you might mean snail mail address. Which one did you want?

I was going to send it via text, but with Ye Olde Celle Phone inesperado again, I grow impatient.

PS: With a return address I'll turn it into a trade. Any series I've mentioned sound intriguing?

Okay, okay, I'll pick something out and guarantee it's not Inuyasha. I think I will have to go re-watch some shows. For quality control purposes, of course.
