Now THAT was a party. The first guests arrived a little after noon, general gaming continued for hours, I consumed at least 2 liters of beer & cider, and even GM'ed until I literally dropped.

1-2 = Tenchu, Xbox ninja game, with the birthday boy. He loved learning how to *SNIKT* the guards. He even taught me something I hadn't know about the game. The tag team stealth kills. SO COOL!

2-2:30 = Prepping for Full Metal Alchemist card game. We had the decks ready, but never found the time to play.

2:30-6:30 = Power Grid, board game for 4. Fun game, but it dragged a lot towards the end. We played slow, but by 5 I really wanted out.

6:30-7:00 = Crazyness, trying to set up as many people arrived and the delayed XBox & projector setup wasn't quite according to plan and I was stir crazy from Power Grid and preparing to cut out for a bit.

7:00-9:00 = Quick trip out to another 30th birthday party for an old friend only a half mile away. Talked with a lot of familiar faces from the past and caught up on a lot of news, and even got some comments on my hair.

9:00-10:00 = Returned to people playing DVD Trivial Pursuit and Arkham Horror and War Machine. But I entered in the middle of a video clue, so I looked at the laptop display with people gathered around and said "Wow, Law and Order" ... then got yelled at! Turned out the question was "Who was the creator?" so I was off the hook, but man, I had NO idea when I walked into my own house that something like that would happen.

10:00-10:30 = Prepped for Run Out the Guns, piratical Rolemaster-based RP I would GM later. I had the basics, but I wasn't going to be completely unprepared. My wife graciously made a photocopy run to Kinko's for me.

10:30-midnight = Taught cribbage to one person and refreshed another's memory. He proceeded to school us in the first 3-player game. We were owned.

Midnight-12:30 = Mass exodus of folks as games wrapped up, reducing the party to maybe half.

12:30 until I collapsed (6 am-ish?) = GM'ed a fresh crew of 4 in Run Out the Guns, from character creation to being onboard ship to chasing down a merchant vessel off the coast of Cuba. They'd shot it several times with cannon and were ready to charge aboard with grapples when I just couldn't go any further. 2 players left for sleep before I did, and I literally fell asleep on the floor by the gaming table.

Needless to say, I slept WAY in. That was 18 hours of non-stop fun. All that gaming, and I really only played 4 games. That's the only disappointing aspect, other than projector issues. I'd really wanted to play FMA and got close but never did. But ah well, I got over it. I'll be looking forward to the next massive gaming party, whenever that is.

Not to mention that I realized I can still GM some Run Out The Guns goodness, even in the midnight to 6 am shift. Next time I'll definitely be starting earlier, and maybe I should set up like a short story arc or something. Somewhere between a one-shot and a permanent thing. We'll see. In the meantime, keep the cannons primed and the powder dry ... and I'll continue fighting to successfully keep the hangover kicked. Wow. What a night.

And Sunday hasn't been a complete waste. My father stopped by this afternoon, and with his guidance we fixed the humidifier (airflow sensor needed a quick cleaning) and installed the new digital thermostat. Hoo-rah.

Now, back to Tenchu for some more SNIKT action.

Hoist the main sail!
I would be all over more Run Out the Guns! Looking at the character sheets, there was obviously a whole side of the game we missed. I would love to see that side of it, and I don't think it would be hard to convince the crew to carry on... lots of fun!

Hmmm... floor rice... Oh No! NINJA!
