Confidentially, I just spent the last fifteen minutes belting out Dead Can Dance tunes.

Sitting in the small bedroom upstairs that's doubling as workspace and musical storage, I noticed the Dead Can Dance boxed set. I cracked it open and read through, then decided I'd see how my voice is today. Maybe it's something to do with the space (and the lack of other sound in the house) but I felt like my voice was stronger, albeit a bit higher in pitch than usual. That may have helped, may have not, but was worth noting.

Still, The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove and The Carnival Is Over aren't easy songs to do. How Fortunate the Man With None is harder to remember than to sing, as Brendan Perry's original delivery is almost ... hymnal. Like some church cantors would do, more like speaking on a few notes than singing. Thankfully the boxed set saved me for the pieces of verse I couldn't remember. And had some interesting back story.

Time for some Lisa Gerrard, as I'm on a bit of a kick right now, and it even suits the grey light coming in through the blinds.
