Lunch went well. The Delmonico steaks came out really good and juicy. Perfectly medium, and the char on one side was more from the beef rub than actual scorched meat, so they in no way tasted like charcol briquette. I even taught my friend how to cook baked potatoes in the microwave. I just wish I'd had sour cream. His portobello mushroom ... concoction was really good, too. I paid just enough attention to notice zucchini and mozzarella, along with some kind of vinegar, but didn't get a chance to copy the details, as the best part of the day was basically bookended by online meetings. Like Inspector Gadget, I'm always on duty.

But anyway, we chatted and chatted and chatted, and watched the Family Guy "Freakin' Sweet Collection" DVD. There was some talk of heading out to The Barn (a local bar) tonight. It was a dive, then changed owners and names, got cleaned up and had good food but lost business, then was sold again to someone who switched the name back and even bought the old sign from the original owner. However, my wife had some work to do (and some more sleep to get). As for me, it's been feeding my "Urbz" addiction. Fun little game. It would be easier to put down if my XBox didn't sometimes have trouble reading discs of newer games. Bleah.

I should get some sleep. I've burned off the alcohol from the wine & Guinness & last of the cider. That's my excuse. There's so much I want to do; I've always been at odds with sleep. I enjoy it when I get it, but there's always something else I'd rather be doing. I seem to remember a song with "Who needs sleep?" as part of the chorus. I'll have to look that up eventually.

Sleep well and dream well, folks. My dreams have been vivid lately, but my memory of them has faded so quickly in the mornings.

the song is by barenaked ladies (although I imagine I spelt that wrong).

I love that song.
