Words FAIL! Buildings TUMBLE! The ground OPENS WIDE! Light beams down from heaven ... and this movie stands before my eyes.
Tim Roth, Gary Oldman, Richard Dreyfus. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Movie based on Tom Stoppard play based on Shakespeare.
Would you like to play a game of questions?
</fanboy> ... okay, so I'll be due for another fanboy moment whenever it gets here. They're taking pre-orders, so this movie can be SENT FOR. That, too, is apropos.

My divorce lawyer somehow ended up with my videotape, it's been out of print for a few years, and you can't get video stores to part with them. I've driven people mad talking about it, just ask my bf, who got no peace until he let me rent it and watched it with me.
Hah. I'd put some pithy quote in, but my brain fell out.
But my favorite bit is as follows:
"I'm going to stuff you in this box now, would you rather be alive or dead? Naturally, you'd prefer to be alive. Life in a box is better than no life at all. I expect. You'd have a chance at least. You could he there thinking - well, at least I'm not dead! In a minute someone's going to bang on the lid and tell me to come out. (Banging on the floor with his fists.) 'Hey you, whatsyernaine! Come out of there!'....
"Whatever became of the moment when one first knew about death? There must have been one, a moment, in childhood when it first occurred to you that you don't go on forever. It must have been shattering — stamped into one's memory. And yet I can't remember it. It never occurred to me at all."
