Woot! I'm covered in work, but it's not so bad. I've even been forced into the loop by my company's owner, as my boss had become the sole contact point yet very bad at information distribution. So he put a hand in and now we're off and running. Kick ASS!

I can feel the balance shifting.

Even a potential disaster yesterday decided to pull the same trick some clouds do. Look like an impressive gray speck on the horizon and look ominous at a distance, then arrive in a totally unimpressive attempt at being threatening. I even got to give someone the "brushoff" yesterday. On strict orders to do so, even.

We'll have to see how it goes from here.

In other news, the card shark is back from Iraq, and even now has a bid in on a townhouse in a nearby neighborhood. Good times were had at the bar last night ... without severe drunkenness. I also heard some not-so-fine stories about his ex-roommates. One took out a loan in his name while he was gone. Can you say fraud, boys and girls? Messy, especially since card shark's dad is a lawyer.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to being in town this weekend. Trips to Worcester, MA and Ithaca, NY for weddings are fine and all that, but it's kicking in my homebody-ness.

And planning for Gencon is coming up. I need to figure out what I'm going to do there. I want to do some Legend of the Five Rings stuff. There's even a LARP, which I think will be absolutely hysterical if I can avoid the self-consciousness I can slip into at every LARP. I can sympathize with Monk's almost paralyzing attention to detail. I can be that critical of things, wanting them to be that perfect, wanting to BE that perfect of a representation of the character. Gotta pick one first, though. I'm a big fan of the Dragon Clan ... but I'm not sure who I'd be more suited to play. Decisions, decisions. Feel free to suggest if you want. The list is here.
