Mental Improvement

I feel much better today. Sort of.

I ended up hanging out with the card shark. He is still recovering from the aftermath of breaking up with his girlfriend. She did something to earn it, but I still haven't been able to get the story. It's sinking in now more because now he's got "bored time" that he used to spend on her. I can help some, but I do have quite the whirlwind life as a quick browse of this journal will attest.

Last night, I figured we'd chat some. We cracked some beers, he started to open up, then his roommate got home and we kept the card shark's brain occupied. We had fun, watched the end of the Matrix on TV and ended up playing NFL Blitz on his Playstation and going on a real bender.

Ow. My head's better, my stomach is still displeased at me. I didn't eat much lunch today but I sure sucked down the Hawaiian Punch. The beef and lo mein was good at the shop we went to, but my stomach lurched and gurgled ... and I could tell eating a lot was a bad idea.

It was a blast. A good time had by all, even if my favorite jacket is a little smoky now. Small price to pay.

I think I'll drag the babe out to dinner somewhere, have some "us" time, chill out. Catch up on stuff, since I didn't go home last night until real late.

"the babe"? :)

The babe, aka my girlfriend. Instead of going with names (that could be harder to keep track of) I've gone with making nicknames instead.

Also makes it a little harder for anyone involved to just happen by the page and know who's who. It wouldn't take a lot of sleuthing, but just enough for me to breathe a little easier. I'm not quite ready to own up to everything that's going/gone on.

Hmm, now I am curious about what else you are juggling :)

I especially like some of the nicknames, like "flame"...

Ah, the flame. A dangerous flirt and a fellow Renaissance Fair bum. We'd spend most of the day at the tavern drinking and singing along with the Pyrates Royale, the best bunch of musical pirates since Penzance.

There always was (and still is) some high-tension I'll-flirt-more-than-you-will going back and forth between us. But like a fire, she burned me good a couple times before I learned to play the game. Now I see her occasionally, and it is fun to hang out ...

There are some stories there, but she's actually how I found LJ in the first place. I don't think she knows I have a journal. Yet. And I'm not telling her until I'm ready. This journal's got several revelations for any number of people involved.

And she is one of the best subs I've known. ;) But that's a story for another time.

Hmm...I am starting to suspect that you are teasing me, playing with my overactive curiousity at this point.

Are you ever on AIM? More details are defitely in order. :)

Nope, not an AIM member. I don't know if it works through our firewall at the office. I can look into it though.

As for teasing, I'm more than willing to answer curiosity. I'm plenty curious enough myself. So go ahead, indulge your own curiosity. I can only answer what hasn't been asked at my own pace.

ah, oh well. i dont chat at work anyway (I am *trying* not to use LJ at work, but failing...)

I will try to keep up with all the characters with the handy cheat sheet you've provided :)

Apparently, the firewall lets Yahoo Messenger work, but fries AIM.

Glad the cheat sheet is handy.
