The two large fans we have are cooling the room nicely, but they're also making it sound like I'm working on the tarmac at an airport. But when you're in an over-a-century-old brick building (can you say oven?), these things are necessary. It used to be a broom factory, and that's been kept as the name of the building.

But the best part of the new job ... responsibility and respect. I can just go and change things. One person to get authority from ... and here I've been working in ASP for one day and I'm already entrenched in a big debugging effort. And finding things.

I hope I can keep up the good work. He hired me expecting a good progammer, and I intend to live up to the reputation.

Me too. It's better than I could've hoped for. I just need to resolve the last of the issues from my transition from old company to new, and everything'll be kosher. Health coverage, 401k, etc.

It's also weird just how much formerly undiscloseable stuff people were willing to tell me as I was on my way out the door. *shakes head* Goes to show how communication really is very important within a company to keep it together.

Hear all about people's plans on leaving then, I take it? And how's the first six months at the new place?

Re:
^_^ yep.

Pretty good, I like it. I like the people here and they like me. I just got a really good elvaluation today. Also, the money's better than in the city graphic design jobs.

Coolness. Sounds like you got a good fit, too. Party time once I'm outta here today, and I'll make sure to raise a glass to us lucky ones.

Assuming I'm outta here before the bars close. Ugh.

Nope, didn't get out before bars closed, but I've got much respect (and the option to work as much or as little as I want tomorrow) from Doc, the president of my company. Between the two of us, we put in 33 billable hours. And then there was the breakfast.

Tonight's a scratch, but tomorrow ... like you said, work hard, play hard. =) Consider this a pre-emptive clink of the glass.

Pookah's found a niche with a chinese man on the desk, dug into a mystical network area and jumping out of hiding every now and then to wrestle a vicious 20-foot tall bug to the ground and murder it.

Congratumalations.

Thanks.

The worst is the lepidoptera codidae, or the digital moth. You gotta get them when they land, and they're hard to spot with their natural camouflage. Heh.

And I'll add a chinese man pic once I can figure out how to get my laptop on our network.

Since we just learned all about binomial nomenclature, I've GOTTA correct you... please forgive me... (if I act a little strange [meheheh. Did I ever tell you I love that song?])

Genus name is always capitalized.

Would you happen to know the family of humans?
I figured out the rest of the classification, but...

Meh.
