Today, Obscure

Fit between two days of renown is this day, not really known for anything.

15th - "The Ides of March" and the death of Caesar.

16th - ?????

17th - St. Patrick's Day

Famous birthday-wise, you have Jerry Lewis (Hey LADY!), Chuck Woolery (game show host extraordinaire), Erik "Ponch" Estrada, and 4th US President James Madison. Real winners, that lot.

Events-wise, it all sucked. The Scarlet Letter was first published (confidentially, not a happy novel). Hitler scrapped the Treaty of Versailles in 1935, and US troops caused the My Lai massacre in 1968. Beyond that, it gets as trivial as the founding of the FTC in 1915.

Gee whiz.

I performed an event, achieved an achievement, did something that will make march 16th famous forever... yesterday (that is, march 16th...)

I went up a hill.

Such a major event should not go undocumented! (Some kind of journalistic manifesto, that)

So details! Details! =)

Oh well, you get details anyway.
We were driving through the pointe, trying to get to walmart to get s'more supplies... and the point is a... like... like an outdoor mall, but with big stores, not a bunch of little ones. I think that's what I mean. So we passed the entrance to Walmart... but there was a road over from the next plaza type place... so we figure, no prob, we'll follow the road. So we go up into the next plaza and... miss that road, too.

crap. I say, 'look, derf, we could go up that hill and into the back of Walmart that way'. She says, 'vroom, vroom, SCREEECH.'

Okay, so maybe there were already details, and I was just slow ... Sounds like it was a blast. And if you end up in Squirrel Hill again, try Gullifty's. Their desserts (especially the cheesecake) are extra extra scrumptious.

cheesecake.
I don't like mayonaise, cream cheese desserts, or cheesecake.

Is that odd?

Acquired Tastes
Nah, not weird. For a long time I used to dislike those things. I used to send back sandwiches with mayo on them, especially if it was way too much and taking a bite would make it pour out the other side. Now I love cheesecake, don't mind mayo, and still can't stand cream cheese. *shrug*

Yuck...
They say coffee is an acquired taste, too.
*shudders*

he says it's the best stuff around.

True, True
Whenever I have coffee, I drink mine with plenty of cream and sugar. Otherwise it's way too bitter for me.

A cappuccino mocha, on the other hand, is extra chocolate-y, and is much easier to take. IMHO.

Everybody has their own tastes, from food to beverages.

uh...
I was going to say that food-beverage wasn't a huge gamut,
but then I thought about it...
and...
uh...
Yeah.
