Nov. 9th, 2005

I didn't sleep too well last night, waking up every couple hours and staring at the clock. That probably made it easier for me to get up at 6:05 am so I could throw on my suit and jet to DC for a 8 am customer meeting.

In the "this week sucks" department, the water pressure at home was way low last night and this morning, so I was unable to get the nice wake-up shower I wanted. Health-wise, my temperature seems to have normalized, but today my throat has been impossible to clear for long and I've had to cough a fair bit. My voice played all kinds of tricks during the customer meeting. My eye's a little better, but still a little irritated.

And my laptop hard drive made some funny noises this morning when it was warming up. Seems fine now, but I investigated and was able to find a comparable one of the same brand for $80. I'm contemplating it, since it draws less power which would extend my battery life. Hopefully, since the chirping has stopped, it won't be necessary.

Ugh. On the day continues...

ahhh the week that sucks
my week, too, has sucked the largest of woogies. The good news is that the decision from THIS MORNING that I must not only come in for a 7 AM meeting tomorrow, but ALSO stay for a 7-8PM meeting TONIGHT, has been reversed and I get to go home soon. Still have to be in at 7am, but at least that I have known for months...

Sorry you still feel crummy! I'm at about 95% now after going on 4 weeks. Dave was better, then significantly worse Monday & Tuesday, but is back to probably about 75% again. Yipee. I guess we should just all count ourselves lucky to not have bird flu. :( If you need to take a real shower, feel free to swing by. we recenly turned up the water heater so its is SOOOOO NICE!

Re: ahhh the week that sucks
Thankfully, the water pressure returned, so I took a nice long hot bath last night. Good for the body. Then this morning I took a short hot shower, where the steam did good for my lungs. I now feel better, but will probably not be rid of this cough for a couple days until I get the last of the gunk out from being sick.

Hope you're able to get out no later than normal today after that 7am...

The constant waking does not sound fun...they say to turn the clock away from you so you can't see it cause it makes things seem way worse and you start to worry about the time which keeps you awake longer...but at least after a couple nights of that you're often so bagged you will sleep like a baby.

I think it was the combination of sickness and anxiety over making my early meeting. I did make that meeting, but was a bit tired. I haven't felt rested all week ... then again, I've been continuing to work while I've been sick. I've felt like it's just too critical of a time for my office to take a sick day right now. It'll take longer for me to recover fully, but I have gotten some stuff done at work and been cut a little bit of slack.

Granted, if they don't already know that I bust my ass for them ... but I'm not going down that road.
